The Canadian Grizzlies Hockey Club is an Incorporated Not for Profit Society founded by Trevor and Jean Marks. The Mission of the Canadian Grizzlies Hockey Club is:
“To provide young men and women the opportunity to play international ice hockey while instilling the ideals of good sportsmanship, character, physical fitness and education amongst our members.”
The first Grizzly team is composed of 1998 birth year boys from Alberta and Ontario. They are competing in the Finland Lions Cup in Helsinki, Finland from August 14th - 16th, 2009. In addition to the tournament, they will also be playing three exhibition games in Stockholm, Sweden and Turku, Finland.
The Grizzlies first tour has become a reality thanks to the generous corporate and personal donations that we received, along with hours of fundraising performed by the team members. Thank you to everyone who has supported us.

Sunday August 16, 2009
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Without a win the Grizzlies finished 5th in our pool and played Haukat HC in the 9th - 10th place game. It was the Grizzlies best game of the tournament, they were behind 1- 0 at the end of the first and 2 - 0 at one point. The Grizzlies battled back and Ty M scored a beauty from a great pass by Matteo A, Brandon P then tied the game on a rebound from a great effort by Des C. In the last minute of play Haukat scored a bit of a controversial goal to take a 3 - 2 lead.
Although the Grizzlies did not win a game during the tournament they had a fantastic time meeting and playing all the other teams and players. The Grizzlies never backed down and put forth a great effort against some of the top 1998 teams from Finland, Russia and Latvia. They did Canada proud and played with heart and passion. All of the boys had an experience of a lifetime and have priceless memories of their travels.
